Edna Reece Chambers, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Clay County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Eva Dye Reece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Chambers, who died in 1995; and an infant son, James Bryan Chambers. Edna was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Larry Douglas Chambers and his wife, Ruth, Charles Lynn Chambers and his wife, Catherine, Ronald Lee Chambers and his wife, Janet, and Donald Ray Chambers and his wife, Evelyn; one daughter, Phyllis Chambers Gaddis and her husband, John; one brother, Roe Reece; two sisters, Stella Owen and Eva Mae Burress and her husband, Carroll; seven grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Melissa, and Douglas Chambers, Brett, and Daran Gaddis, and Tanya Chambers Morgan; and four great-grandchildren, Lyndsay and Meredith Morgan, Carson Gaddis, and Tori Chambers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Larry Sprinkle and the Reverend Mike Odom officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Lake Logan Volunteer Fire Department First Responders, 4291 Lake Logan Road, Canton, NC 28716.
