Edna Clark

Waynesville-Edna Rose Clark, age 90, of Old Balsam Road, died Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Britthaven of Clyde. She was a native of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late James W. and Ellen Rogers McElroy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett H. Clark, who died in 1995; her grandson, Darrell Eugene Clark; her sister, Mattie Morrow; and two brothers, Ray and Waldo McElroy. She was a member of Beth Eden Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, mamaw, to the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Green and her husband Berlion, of Waynesville, and Susie Wells and her husband, Worth of Columbia, SC; one son, Charles A. Clark and his wife, Reba of Canton; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2004 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Clayton Davis, Donnie Bryson, and Reverend Carl Chastain will officiate. Burial will follow at Plott Cemetery in the Saunook Community. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Nancy Green, 9 Fairway Hills Drive, Waynesville. The pallbearers will be David Barnes, Chris Deane, Harold Clark, Johnny Williamson, Mike Crawford, Danny Hooper, Doug Smathers, and Brick Lewis. The honorary pallbearers will be Red and Roy Smathers, Jesse Hall, Lee Messer, Buddy Cochran, Fred Coward, Jr., B. J. and Tommy Morrow, Terry and Thad Medford, Greg West, Bill Nelson, William Cogdill, and Dr. George Brown.
