Waynesville, Edna Chambers Edwards, age 91, of 925 Ratcliff Cove Road, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 20, 2013. She has been reunited with her husband, Roy Edwards; her parents, Corley and Grace Pruitt Chambers; three brothers, Lewis, Glen, and Reverend Gay Chambers; two sisters, Margie and Laura Messer; and son-in-law, Doyle Rogers. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, Edna graduated from Bethel High School, where she was a star basketball player and was named All-American. She was a devoted member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Pat Rogers of Greenville, South Carolina and Phyllis Rogers (Jim) of Waynesville; two sons, Doug Edwards (Shirley) and Dwain Edwards (Louise) also of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jay Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Edwards, Dean, Kristi, and Rodney Rogers, Tyler Hyde, Jacob Edwards, Jeff Davis, and Glen Browning. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
