Canton - Edna Trimble Martin Holland, age 96, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at her residence. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Emily Trimble of Marshall, NC. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Martin and her second husband, Roy Holland. She is survived by four sisters, Blanche Chandler of Walnut, NC, Hazel Guthrie of Galletin, TN, Faye Ramsey of Gray, TN , and Ann Howze and her husband, Ben, of Erwin, TN; three brothers, Howard Trimble of Leicester, T.E. Trimble and his wife, Bernice, of Canton and Dean Trimble and his wife, Louise; of Leicester; three step-daughters, Rita Mathews and her husband, Charles, Joy Thompson and her friend, Ronnie, and Wanda Stockton all of Canton; five step-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David H. Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Hartford Tweed, Travis Thompson, Kent Thompson, Charles Mathews, Ronnie Childs, Joe Loughmiller, Roger Free, and Tommy Allison. The family would like to thank all those who assisted Edna through life's journey. Special mention goes to Sharon Free, Cathy Trantham, Vickie Allen, Helen Neal, and Linda Campbell for the timeless hours of compassionate loving care they provided for Edna.
