Edna Kelly

Canton – Edna Davis Kelly, age 91, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at The Homestead.

A native of Gordon, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Graves Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris L. Kelly Jr. and a sister, Augusta Davis Beard. Edna truly embodied her role as a homemaker. She deeply cared for all of her family and always was certain any need of theirs was met. Edna was a charter member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Muriel Kelly Hunter, of Canton and Marianna Kelly Poppas and her husband, Gary, of Canton; four grandchildren, Briana Hunter, Zoe Callard and her husband, Gary, Aaron Poppas and his wife, Amanda Smith, and Brandon Hunter; and five great-grandchildren, Kelton Poppas, Ethan Poppas, Ava Poppas, and Leo and Lucas Callard.

Memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 14, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father James Cahill officiating. Inurnment will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Homestead, 127 Sunset Ridge, Clyde, NC 28721.
