Edna Elizabeth Shipman Littrell, 86, of Asheville went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2024, at her home, following a period of declining health. A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Thelma Louise Franks Shipman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Samuel Littrell in 1991 and two sisters, Bonnie Sue Cole and Betty Jane Smith.
Edna loved her Lord and Savior, she found great comfort in reading her bible constantly. She worked at Milco for 25 years. She loved to play cards and watch General Hospital.
She is survived by her son, James Jackson Sherlin of Asheville; sister, Judy Ann Gregg of Leicester; brothers, AJ Shipman of Asheville, Jesse Edward Shipman and his wife, Cathy of Black Mountain, and Donnie Lewis Shipman and his wife, Pam of Etowah; two grandchildren, April and Brandi and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 in Wells Chapel of Faith with Reverend James King officiating. The family will receive friends at the chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The care of Mrs. Littrell has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler and an online memorial register is available at “obituaries” at www.wellsfuneralhome.com.
