Edna Pressley

Waynesville-Edna Franklin Pressley, age 86, formerly of Boyd Avenue, died Friday, May 02, 2003 at Autumn Care of Waynesville.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. and Eula Kelley Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neil Pressley, who died in 1990; a brother, A.T. Franklin; and a sister, Marjorie Walker. She worked as a dental assistant for over 30 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Jean Ann Rogers and her husband, Jim, of Leicester, NC; a son, Bob Pressley and his wife, Joanne, of Matthews, NC; three sisters, Hettie Casey, Katie Caldwell, and Janie Wolfe, all of Waynesville; three brothers, Bill and Tom Franklin of Waynesville, and Walter Franklin, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two grandchildren, Melissa Cassell and Eric Pressley; and three great-grandchildren, Brittany and Megan Cassell and Hannah Pressley.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Michael J. Leslie officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the services, and at other times, the family will be at the home of Jim and Jean Ann Rogers in Leicester or at Bill and Lucille Franklin's of Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Butch, Mike, David, Chad, and Tré Franklin and Rick McElroy.
