Edna Reitz

Asheville-Edna Ford Reitz, age 75 died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at her residence.

She was a daughter of the late Zeb Marler and Maggie Ledford. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Joseph Ford who died in 1977 and her 2nd husband, Frances Reitz who died in 2000. She was a native of Madison County before moving to Haywood County, then to Cool Springs, PA and then to Buncombe County.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jane Shook and her husband Carl William Shook, Jr. of Candler, Elizabeth Turpin and her husband Dallas of Asheville and Linda Ford Inman and her husband Vick of Bethel one son, William Cecil Ford and his wife Brenda of Candler, one sister, Molly Lindsey of Canton, one brother, Richard Marler of Canton, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Timothy Griggs officiating. Burial will follow at Old Thickety Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
