Edna Ruff

Waynesville, Edna Reece Ruff, age 90 died Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Brian Center of Waynesville. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Carl and Lura Davis Reece. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Elonzo Ruff, who died December 21, 1988, a daughter Rachael Parris in 2005, brothers, Rob and Jack Reece and three sisters, Margaret Chambers, Willie Grooms and Josephine Cunningham. She was employed by Wellco Manufacturing for over 32 years as a shoe trimmer. She is survived by two sons, Thomas "Hank" Ruff and his wife Leah of Waynesville; Robert Lewis Ruff and his wife Elaine of Clyde and a grandson raised as a son, Therold Edward Nichols and his wife Cindy of Clyde; two sisters, Wilsie Green and Betty Ann Birchfield, both of Waynesville, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. Reverend Kitty Crain will officiate. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
