Edryl Howell

October 16, 1928 — January 3, 2007

Waynesville-Edryl Howell, age 78, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Autumn Care. Born in Swainsboro, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Ruby Mathis Jones and was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Jones. Mrs. Howell was a homemaker and was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James E. Howell Sr.; a son, James E. Howell Jr., and his wife, Marilyn, of Waynesville; one sister, Clava Jo Hunt, and her husband, Bowman, of Wax Saw, NC; and three brothers, Thomas Lewis, and his wife, Mary Faye, Lester and his wife, Francis, and Cecil Jones all of Swainsboro, GA.; two granddaughters, Mikaela and Jessica Howell and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend George Norsworthy and Reverend Owen Fulghum officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
