Waynesville, NC-Edward Larnard King, age 79, of 182 Jubilee Way, died on Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at Brian Center. A native of Warren, OH, he had resided in Western North Carolina for 26 years, moving here from New Orleans, LA where he raised his family. He was the son of the late Paul L. and Helen Moyer King and was also preceded in death by a brother, Bob King. He graduated from Hamilton College in New York and received his Masters at Ohio State. He was a US Army veteran and was employed by Chevron Oil for 30 years as a development geologist. He was also a writer and published author. Edward played tennis, enjoyed carpentry, and loved the mountains. He was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Phyllis King; three daughters, Allison King, of Santa Cruz, CA, Camille Bradley and husband, Charles, of Memphis, TN, and Paula Roth and husband, Chris, of Greensboro, NC; one son, Chris King and wife, Helen, of Englewood, FL; mother of his children, Marie Elise King, of Santa Cruz, CA; three stepsons, Keith McCracken and wife, Robin, of Clyde, and Eric and Todd McCracken, both of Raleigh; one brother, Dick King and wife, Phyllis, of Warren, OH; six grandchildren, Tina, Laura, Frank, Ian, Brian, and Benjamin; one step granddaughter, Keisha; and one great granddaughter, Reese. Funeral services and burial will be held in Warren, Ohio under the direction of Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Longs Chapel United Methodist Church, P.O.
