Clyde- Edwin Trantham, age 71, of 163 Trantham Drive, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Homer and Maggie Beasley Trantham. He was an auto mechanic before retiring and worked for the Haywood County Recycling Center. Mr. Trantham was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. He loved to farm and trout fish and was a former member of the Masonic Lodge of Canton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Trantham; one daughter, Linda Burgess, of Clyde; one son, Lee Trantham and his wife, Belinda of Clyde; four grandchildren, Jonathan Cagle, Cassie Cagle, Mekayla Trantham and Tracy Trantham. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Johnny Swanger and Reverend Carl Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Burial will followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
