Elaine Murphy

Canton- Elaine Trull Murphy, of 11 Lakeview Drive, died Thursday, March 18, 2005 at her home. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Carl E. and Leola Cathey Trull. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband Fred Joe Murphy who died in 1994 and a brother Floyd Eldon "Joe" Trull. She was a homemaker, member of Crestview Baptist Church, and a former employee of American Enka and Charles D. Owen Manufacturing. She is survived by one daughter, Debra S. Scott and her husband David Wayne of Union, SC; three sons, James R. Sams, Jr. of Canton, Terry Lee Sams and his wife Becky of Richland, WA and Gary Wayne Sams, Sr. and his wife Christy of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Carleen Duckett of Clyde and Cathey Mehaffey of Canton; three brothers, Roy Trull of Lugoff, SC, Dean Trull of Beech Island, SC and Jerry Trull of Maggie Valley; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 22, 2005 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Reverend Jerry Ensley officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Cathey Mehaffey, 72 Cloverleaf Lane, Canton. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 3258 Pisgah Drive, Canton, NC 28716.
