Elizabeth Balentine

July 20, 1943 — April 5, 2007

Waynesville-Elizabeth Sue "Betty" Medford Balentine, age 63, of 114 Morning Drive, died on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Thelma Medford of Waynesville and the late Ben Medford. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Mack, Otis, and Edin Medford. Betty received her Associate Degree from AB Technical College and was an employee of Wal-Mart. She was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Susie Balentine of Virginia Beach, VA and Michele Norton and her husband, Sean, of Holiday, FL; one son, Curtis Balentine of Waynesville; one sister, Bennie Lou Francis and her husband, Wade, of Waynesville; two brothers, Dewaine Medford and his wife, Rosa, of Lilburn, GA and J.R. Medford and his wife, Vicki, of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Tess and Taylor Balentine and Sierra, Lauren, and Jacob Norton; and all her special nieces and nephews. Betty loved her children, grandchildren, family, and friends and will be missed by them. PSALM 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Woody Adams officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
