Elizabeth Hill

Waynesville, Margaret Elizabeth Himes Hill, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Brian Center. Elizabeth was born in Sumter County, Florida on February 29, 1920. She was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Himes. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Hill, who died in 1997; two sons, Walter Robert "Bob" Hill and James Douglas Hill; five sisters, Virginia Snyder, Kate Yount, Nana Lee Fisher; Mary Himes and Dorothy Rhoden and two brothers, Price and David Himes. Elizabeth was formerly employed as a sales clerk at The Toggery in Waynesville. She was a member of Long's Chapel United Methodist Church. Elizabeth is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Hill of Waynesville; one great-granddaughter, Haley Crocker of Waynesville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Tim McConnell officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
