Elizabeth Mcafee

Waynesville, Elizabeth B. McAfee, age 93, of Hazelwood Avenue, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Lincoln, Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Zella Bird Hasselbacher and was raised in Downers Grove, Illinois. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. McAfee, who died in 1981 and one sister, Harriet Lebedeff. She was former owner of Betty McAfee Real Estate in Waynesville and was a life-long Presbyterian and Elder at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. She is survived by two sons, Robert D. McAfee and his wife, Elizabeth, of Walpole, Massachusetts and Richard E. McAfee and his wife, Diane, of Aurora, Colorado; two sisters, Catherine Horn of Waynesville and Audrey Stansfield of Berea, Ohio; one brother, Harold Hasselbacher and his wife, Helen, of Naples, Florida; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville with Reverend John Lindsay officiating. A private burial will be held. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
