Waynesville-Elizabeth Ann Parkman "Pan" Phillips, age 67, died on Sunday, June 3, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. A native of Haywood County, she was the only child of the late Roy and Marguerite Massie Parkman and had resided in Atlanta most of her life. She was a graduate of Waynesville Township High School and Emory University and was employed as a teacher at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in Atlanta for more than 25 years. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life. She enjoyed reading, traveling and gardening, and was a former member of her local garden club. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah Phillips Wallace and her husband Roy Burton Wallace of Marietta, GA; one son, Albert Edward Phillips, Jr. and his wife, Katherine Greene Phillips of Roswell, GA; and four grandchildren, Alexis Anne "Lexi" and Andrew Roy Wallace, and Alex Edward and Davis Parkman Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Robert W. Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service. An additional memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2007 at Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church with Reverend Jeff Reichmann and Reverend Beth Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 90, Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
