Elizabeth Pruitt

Waynesville-Elizabeth Nelson Pruitt, age 79, formerly of Hamilton, Georgia died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Elizabeth was born on May 20, 1927 in Calhoun County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Ruth Holloway Nelson and Arthur Nelson. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, James Pruitt, and their son, Jim Pruitt. She grew up in LaGrange, Georgia and graduated from Rosemont High School and LaGrange College. Elizabeth and James moved to Hamilton in 1953 to work for Callaway Gardens. They loved and enjoyed their life as a part of Callaway Gardens and were members of the Pioneer Club. Survivors include two sisters, Flossie Langley and her husband, Jack, of West Pont, Georgia and Pat Lewis and her husband, Jerry, of Waynesville; and beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Hamilton First Baptist Church with Reverend Mabry Collins officiating.
