Elizabeth Smith

Elizabeth Harsh Smith, age 93, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Brookdale Asheville Walden Ridge. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Bessie Foster Harsh. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Percy McCall "Pete" Smith, who died in 2010, a son, David Smith, and two brothers. Elizabeth was a loving wife who was married to her faithful husband for 67 years. She was a devoted mother who spent most of her time creating a home for her family. She was an artist at heart and enjoyed painting, weaving, knitting, and bird watching. She was a gracious and giving person who was loved by everyone who knew her and was a faithful servant to the Lord. Elizabeth is survived by three daughters, Warren "Buffy" McCune, and her husband, Jeff, of Green Valley, Arizona, Jan Burkhead and her husband, Michael, of Asheville and Libby Walton, of Asheville; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
