Ella Murphy

Candler- Ella Mae Galloway Murphy, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek. A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lily Mae Galloway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Ray Murphy, who passed away in 2004; a sister and four brothers. Ella retired from Pisgah Manor as a Nursing Assistant and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Ella was a special lady who was devoted to her family and cared selflessly for them. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping and was fond of her Boston Terriers. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are a son, James Murphy and his wife, Pam, of Candler; a sister, Wilma Guice of Flat Rock, NC; a brother, Harold Galloway of Etowah, NC and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Charles Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to a Charity of one's choice.
