Ellen Henson

Ellen Viola Henson, age 96, of Memory Lane died Thursday, June 01, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Clay County and the daughter of the late Charlie and Eva Dye Reece. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvah Blaine Henson who died in 1999 and a son, Blaine Henson. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Ellen enjoyed the outdoors and loved to garden, plant flowers as well as canning various vegetables and making jellies. She is survived by a son, Harold Henson and his wife, Nancy, of Canton; three sisters, Stella Owens and her husband, Robert, of Cruso, Edna Chambers of Canton and Eva Mae Burress and her husband, Carroll, of Canton; and a brother, Roe Reece of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson and Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 486 E.
