Elma Norton

Maggie Valley, NC - Elma May "Nicki" Norton, age 81, of Maggie Valley and Largo, Florida passed away on Monday, September 26, 2011 at MedWest Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of New Brunswick, Canada, she grew up in Maine and lived most of her life in Pinellas County, Florida. She and her husband, Tim, enjoyed splitting their time between their homes in Largo, Florida and Maggie Valley. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Jennie Samantha Esty McMinniman and was also preceded in death by one brother, Harvy McMinniman. She was a former employee of oncologist, Dr. Wice. Nicki was very artistic and enjoyed dancing, but most of all, Nicki loved her family whom she was devoted to and especially adored her shih-tzu, Mimi. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Tim Norton; one daughter, Christina Lee and her husband, Art; three sons, Scott Skofield and his wife, Vickie, Bruce Skofield and his wife, Ann, and Nino Nicolosi and his wife, Sarah; two stepdaughters, Debbie Ligas and her husband, Larry, and Denise Beatty and her husband, David; one stepson, Timothy Norton, II and his wife, Marie; one brother, Donald McMinniman; twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. No services are planned. Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Waynesville is in charge of arrangements.
