Elmo Nelson Clontz, age 76, of 5 Bailey Street died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Mission Hospital Campus. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Otis and Maude Nelson Clontz. He retired from Champion International in 1993 with 39 years of service. In his 50 years of service with the Boy Scouts of America, he served in many capacities. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in Korea. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Fore Clontz, he is survived by a daughter, Jan Clontz of Canton; two sons, Bill Clontz and his wife, Kathleen of Athens, TN and Fred Clontz and his wife, Rene of Canton; a brother, Frank Clontz of Canton; four granddaughters, Renee Bungarner, Jaclyn MacKinley, Eric Clontz and Rebecca Clontz and five great granddaughters. A graveside service will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. prior to the services at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
