Waynesville-Emma P. Dantzler, age 94, of Little Mountain Road, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007 at Autumn Care Nursing Center. She was born in Macon, GA and had lived in Haywood County since 1952. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Wilma Turner Prince. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. "Dan" Dantzler, who died in 2004; two sisters, Genelle Prince and Mary Smith; two brothers, Frank Prince and Reverend Joe Prince. Emma was co-owner of Dan's Drug Store with her husband until 1960 and then operated Dancrafts until 1967. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and was also a member of Little Mountain Bridge Club. She was a member of Hazelwood Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter, Anita D. Powell of Waynesville; two sisters, Juanita Nuckols and Cleora Koon, of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Terry Prince and his wife, Margaret, of Indianapolis, IN and Raymond Prince and his wife, Frances, of Spartanburg, SC; two grandchildren, Lesley Thomas and her husband, Jason, of Lexington, and Mitchell Powell and his wife, Jamie, of Waynesville; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Reverend Larry Wilson officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the mausoleum chapel.
