Emma Singleton

Emma Jean Holland Singleton, age 71, formerly of Chatham St. died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Carroll and Ruby Long Holland. She was preceded in death by a son, James Roy Singleton, who died in 1985. Jean is survived by a daughter, Sandra Singleton of Waynesville; two sons, Jeff Singleton of Waynesville and Tim Singleton and his wife Teresa, of Simpsonville, SC; a sister, Carolyn H. Pressley of Canton; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend William Terrell officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of the daughter Sandra Singleton, 91 Liner Street, Waynesville, NC.
