Emmitt Greene

Fines Creek-Emmitt Arnold Greene, age 62, of 31 Green hill Drive, died on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Walter and Pauline Keener Greene. He worked in the Shipping Department of Dayco and retired in 1997 after 33 years. He was a member of the Walkfar Coon Club. He shined as a light at Keenersville Christian Church, where he was member and his faith influenced and blessed many people. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and was loved by many. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley Greene; two daughters, Lynn Latham and her husband, Charles, of the Fines Creek Community and Pamela Kilby and her husband, Scott, of Waynesville; two sons, J.D. Green and his wife, Jonnie, of the Fines Creek Community and J. Harold Greene of Waynesville; two sisters, Sharon Scott of Candler and Shiela Moore and her husband, Jerry, of Young Harris, GA; three grandchildren, Hunter Kilby and Micah and Chase Latham; and a special nephew, Timmy Browning. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Keenersville Christian Church with Reverend Jimmy Moore and Captain Kenny Clewis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Keener, Dale Green, Sam Ferguson, J.B. and Edward Frisbee, and Jerry McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Moore, Vernon Harris, Marvin Keener, Hugh Justice, Al Perkins, and A. J. Plemmons.
