Waynesville-Emory Lee "Cub" Dillard, Jr., age 74, of Estero Road, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Jackson County and was the son of the late Emory Lee and Mae Godfrey Dillard. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow and Harrison Dillard, and by a sister, Elizabeth Babson. He was an engineer having worked at Dayco for many years and retired in 1986 from Bandag. He was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Wendy Donald Dillard; his daughter, Carolyn Lea Bolton, of Athens, Alabama; two sons, Lynn Wray Dillard and his wife, Rhonda, of Florence, Alabama, and Mark Alan Dillard and his wife, Donna, of Bristol, Tennessee; two step-sons, Warren Medley and his wife, Bronwen, and Trent Medley and his wife, Bev, all of South Africa; one sister, Ruby Lee Haynes, of Asheville; four grandchildren, Leslie Bolton, of Athens, Alabama, Anna and Emily Dillard, of Florence, Alabama, and Tory Dillard, of Bristol, Tennessee; and three step- grandchildren, Taryn, Kelly, and Robyn Medley, all of South Africa. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. The Reverend Bob Dyer will officiate.
