Eric Hipps

Eric Lynn Hipps, age 51, of the Beaverdam community died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. He was a native of Haywood County and the son of Mary Gladys Mann Hipps of Canton and the late Neal Bennett Hipps. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Neal and Marvin Lane Hipps. He was a fiberline operator with Blue Ridge Paper Products for 27 years and a member of Beaverdam United Methodist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter Erica Bailey and her husband, Jay of Clinton, TN; a son, Joseph Richard Hipps and his wife, Particia of Asheville; a sister, Kathy Stockton of Candler; a brother, Marion Bennett Hipps of Canton; six grandchildren, Sebastian and Trinity Bailey, Dustin Lumpkins, Christian, Matthew and Taylor Hipps and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Naomi King and Reverend Gene Worley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made for funeral expenses.
