Erika Ball

Erika Sanford Ball, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Greenville Hospital in Laurens, South Carolina. She was born and raised in Koblenz, Germany where she lived for more than 20 years. She called Haywood County and South Carolina her home for the last 30 years, having lived here since the 1960's. She was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Hilda Wolf Litzius and was also preceded in death by a brother. Erika loved her family and will be remembered for her loving nature and constant care she gave to them, especially her daughter, Julie. She is survived by her husband, Terry Ball; two daughters, Tanya Girsham and her fiancé, Bobby Francis, Jr., of Box Springs, Georgia and Julie Sanford of Gray Court, South Carolina; three sisters; two grandchildren, Megan Girsham of New Jersey and Samantha Francis of Box Springs, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Bethel Community Cemetery with the Reverend Jason Miller officiating.
