Erma Bowes

Waynesville-Erma Love Bowes, age 85, of 24 Aspen Park, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

She was a native of Roxboro, NC, having lived in Asheville and Haywood County for the past 20 years. She was the daughter of the late Hallie Mae Bowes.

She loved to do Find-a-Word Puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Everyone who met her loved her.

She is survived by a daughter, Teresa Spain, and her husband, Jesse of Maggie Valley; one special cousin, Harold Dunevant of Winston-Salem; several other cousins; special friends, Geneva and Clay Hogan of Weaverville, Sue Bacon of Asheville, Priscilla Minch of Asheville, Marlene Gore of Prosperity, SC, Marjorie Lowery of Laurinburg, NC, Joan Forbes of Maggie Valley, and Dudley Camper of Swannanoa.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2003 at the funeral home.
