Ernest Snyder

Waynesville, Ernest "Ernie" Stuart Snyder, age 86, of Crymes Cove Road, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at MedWest Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Homer and Minnie Hendrix Snyder. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Beverly, Viola Ammons, Margaret Cable, and Nora Moody and one brother, Walter Snyder. He retired as a mortis machine operator from Lea Industries in 1990 with 42 years of service. Ernie was a charter member and former deacon of North Hazelwood Baptist Church. He will be remembered for being a compassionate man who loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Jo Robinson Snyder; beloved nephew, Darrell Moody of Peiria Colombia, South America; many nieces and nephews, he cherished; one sister, Barbara Sisson and her husband, Jim, of Vine Grove, Kentucky; two brothers, George Snyder of Waynesville and Homer Snyder, Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Honolulu, Hawaii. The family wishes to thank Cherylann Parlette for her special care. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to services at the funeral home.
