Ernest Wood, Jr.

Ernest Samuel Wood, Jr., age 62, of Liner Creek Road, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County. He was the son of the late Ernest Samuel and Thelma Todd Wood, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Beck. Mr. Wood was employed by American Enka and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy Gentry Wood; one daughter, Sherry Wood Hill and her husband, Ricky of Clyde; one brother, Lonnie Wood of Robbinsville and two grandchildren, Ernie and Mary Hill. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Charlie Simpson, Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend Jennings Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Crabtree Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2005 at Wells Funeral Home in Canton.
