Ernestine Williams

Ernestine Mangum Williams, age 84, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. A native of Roxboro, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Sarah Rhew Mangum. Ernestine was a former employee of the United States Department of the Navy and a member of the First Baptist Church of Asheville. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Earl Williams; three sons, Doug Williams of Candler, Eric Williams of Springfield, VA, and Jeff Williams of Manassas, VA; one sister, Jenny Culler of Durham; one brother, Benson Mangum of Durham; two grandson, Nicholas and Edward Williams; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Grace Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Asheville with the Reverend David Blackmon and the Reverend Leah Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
