Erous Mooney

Erous Davis Mooney, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Dolph and Hattie Webb Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Mooney; three sisters, Pearl Rogers, Nola Shoemaker, and Mabel Ledford; and two brothers, Vance and Furman Davis. Erous was employed at Sky City and Haywood Regional Medical Center Snack Bars until retirement. She was a wonderful cook and loved sharing her homegrown vegetables, flowers, and dishes with her family, friends and neighbors. Erous was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Rita Phillips (Ronnie); a son, Ricky Mooney; two grandsons, Tommy Mooney (Jackie) and Rodney Phillips (Tracie); two great-grandchildren, Trevor and Dessa Phillips; and one brother, William Ledford. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Barry Clark and Bishop Stephen Adler officiating.
