Ervin Grasty

Clyde, Ervin J. Grasty, age 43, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Memorial Mission. A native of Haywood County, he is the son of Ella Mae Caldwell Grasty and the late Hilliard Grasty. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a special friend, George Herschel Fortune. Ervin was employed with Ray of Light Homes and Irene Wortham Center as a caregiver. He loved fishing, taking care of people and animals. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 17 years, Lisa Grasty; a son, Dallas Fraga of the home; four step-children, Chris Randall of Waynesville, Tiffany Childers of Whitter, NC, Sarah Roberts of Raleigh, NC and Kimberly Roberts of Virginia; a sister, Karen Grasty of Waynesville; a brother, Hugh Grasty and his wife, Polly, of Rose Bud, Arkansas, three uncles, David Grasty of Candler, Calvin Grasty, of Waynesville, Danny Grasty of Siler City, aunt, Eva Wolfs of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Austin, Anthony, and Dakota; nieces and nephews, Rachel, Jason, David, Joshua, Crystal, April and Ashley. Also his special friends, James Caldwell, Trinity Grasty, and Ronnie Bradley. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Fincher's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
