Estelle Dotson

March 5, 1903 — November 13, 2008

Estelle Jamison Baity Dotson, age 105, formerly of Pisgah Drive, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Tull Lonzo and Fannie Reno Jamison. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Burgin W. Baity, who died in 1973; her second husband, Rowe J. Dotson; two sisters, Ora Keener and Lois Howell; and a brother, John Ray "Toby" Jamison. She was a lifelong member of Canton Central United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Untied Methodist Women. She is survived by a son, Jimie W. Baity and his wife, Barbara Rogers Baity, of Maggie Valley; and two nieces, Mary Frances Hardin of Canton and Sarah Catherine Jamison of Asheville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Canton Central United Methodist Church, 34 Church Street, Canton, NC 28716.
