ESTHER MAE G. BRIDGES

Waynesville-Esther Mae Gibson Bridges, age 82, of Ray Street died Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at her residence.

A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Gibson, Sr. and Fannie Sherrill Gibson. She was a former employee for the Waynesville Mountaineer with 40 years service. She was also a former employee of Pet Dairy and Haywood County Department of Social Services. She was a life-long member of Richland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Carl Richmond Bridges; three step-daughters, Linda Querry of Las Vegas, Nevada, Margaret Eisenburg and Nannie Watson, both of Eugene, Oregon; three step-sons, Melvin E. Bridges of Phoenix, AZ, James T. Bridges, of Tri-City, Washington, Charles Kenneth Bridges, of Creswell, OR; one brother, Keith Gibson, of Waynesville; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 13, 2002 at Richland Baptist Church with Reverend Fred Frady and Reverend Jeff Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Larry and Gary Gibson, Charles and Travis Rogers, Reverend Jeff Gibson, and Lloyd Allen.
