Clyde-Ethel Mae McClure, age 88 of Columbus, OH; formerly of Clyde, died Tuesday Dec. 23, 2003 at We Care Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Clyde Church of God and was the daughter of the late Pedro and Anganette Ragsdale Shumate. She was the widow of the late Frank McClure who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley and Chester Shumate and a sister Hazel Cook. She was a retired nurse's aid and had been employed by several nursing facilities.
She is survived by four daughters, Gladys Chalmers and her husband Jim, and Faye Palmer all of Clyde, Phyl Brittingham and her husband Wayne of Alexandria, VA and Carol Haenszel of Columbus, OH, a son, Kenneth McClure and his wife Roena of Canton, two sisters, Ruby Robinson and Beulah Hodges of Virginia, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Pastor Tim McConnell. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael and Kenneth Warren, Greg Ayers, Jim Chalmers, Perry V. McClure, Jerry McCracken, Danny Maney, and Wayne Brittingham.
