Ethel Moody

Waynesville, Ethel Wyatt Moody, age 96, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at Maggie Valley Nursing Home & Rehabilitation. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Rhoda Conard Wyatt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Fred L. Moody, Sr. who died in 1992; five brothers, four sisters and four grandsons. Ethel worked for Wellco for 29 years. Ethel's pride and joy in life was her family. She enjoyed quilting and doll making. Ethel will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and mamaw. She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Moody Stacy, and her husband, Dawayne, of Waynesville; two sons Raymond Moody, and his wife, Rosa Lee, of Hickory and Freddy Moody, and his wife, Martha, of Waynesville; three sisters, Mary Webb, of Hickory, Ellen Mehaffey and Flora Nations, both of Waynesville; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Austin Watts officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
