Canton - Etta Mann Henderson, age 89, of Axley Street, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2007. Etta was born in Clay County and was the daughter of the late Marion and Allie Rymer Mann. She worked serving the public her entire career going all the way back to Bill Stone's Bus Station and Soda Shoppe. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a member of Canton Historical Association and one of the founding members of the Haywood County Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. Etta belonged to a very special group, "The Hardee Bunch" and she loved them all dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ned D. Henderson; her son, Clifton L. Henderson, Sr. and three brothers, Willie, Ottie, and Ray Mann. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy H. and Johnny Jenkins, of Canton; her grandson, Cliff Henderson, Jr. and his wife, Beth; her granddaughter, Karen Robinson and her husband, Mitch; and three great-grandchildren, Blake and Cole Henderson, and Matthew Robinson. She was a loving friend, Mother, and Mamaw to many. She was an inspiration to all who knew her for her kind and giving nature, her selflessness, and her ability to put others before herself. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis Ruff officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
