Eugene Belt

Canton- Eugene Belt - age 70 of 4141 Thickety Road died Monday, August 21, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Ray and Louise Norman Belt. He retired from Champion International in 2000 with 46 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra Caldwell Belt; two daughters, Elaine Pressley, of Clyde and Eugenia "Sissy" Franklin and her husband, Harold, of Waynesville; two sons, Roger Belt and his wife, Murlan, of Canton and Alan Belt and his wife, Cheri, of Clyde; one brother, Arthur Roger Belt and his wife, Marie, of Sevierville, TN; six grandchildren, Christopher Pressley, Justin Belt, Allison Pressley, Heather Belt, Amanda Franklin, and Jessie Belt and one great-grandson, Colby Adkins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. At other times, the family will be at the home of Alan Belt, 46 Wills Cove Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
