Eula Rigdon

Eula Vance Rigdon, born on September 22, 1918, died on Sunday, August 05, 2012 at Silver Bluff Village. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Lillie Henson Vance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Olin "Jack" Rigdon, who died in 1998; three brothers, Harry, Turner, and David Vance; and two sisters, Ruth Ledbetter and Mildred Vance. She was employed by Southern School Services, Inc. for 31 years and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Olin "Tucker" Rigdon and his wife, Barbara, and Wallace Berry Rigdon and his wife, Roseanna, all of Waynesville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. J.D. Grose, Jr. and grandson, Reverend Tim Rigdon officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
