Eula Stamey

Eula Morgan Stamey, 90, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Cleve Elmer and Sally Jackson Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude C. "Buster" Stamey, Jr., who died in 2004; three brothers, and one sister. Eula was employed with the United States Postal Service for 17 years and was a lifelong member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Ronald C. "Pete" Stamey and his wife, Diane, of Candler; one grandchild, Monica Rathbone and her husband, Kaleb; and three great-grandsons, Mason Rathbone and twins Grant and Reid Rathbone. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton and the family will be available at the church before and after the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
