Eva Gregory

Waynesville, Eva McClure Gregory, age 86, of Iron Duff Road, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at McCracken Rest Home. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maggie Downs Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Denton McClure, who died in 1976; her second husband, Gilbert Gregory, who died in 2001; and three brothers, Cleveland, C.Y. and R.L. Park. Eva retired after 37 years service from Dayco and enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, James "Jim" McClure and his wife, Carolyn, of Waynesville and Robert "Bob" McClure and his wife, Jean, of Clyde; one sister, Bessie Rathbone, of Canton; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Taylor and Reverend Jimmy Huey officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky, Randy, Stuart, and Kenny McClure, Gene Park, and Tim Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob and Austin McClure, and Riley Bell. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to services at the church.
