Eva Stanford

Canton-Eva L. Stanford, age 75, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Elmer and Maude Whitted Brookshire. She was the wife of the late Went Stanford who died in 1986 and was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. She was employed by Canton Middle School as a custodian for 25 years until her retirement and was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Ann Camby and her husband Martin, Donna Head and her husband Jerry and Cathy Stanford, all of Canton, three sons, Scott Stanford, Bob Stanford and his wife Kim and Danny Stanford and his wife Marie, all of Canton, four sisters, three brothers, 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2004 at Long Branch Baptist Church. Reverend Jack Scott and Reverend Jimmy Trantham will officiate. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road in Canton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services of Canton. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, Home Health Bldg., 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
