Lake Junaluska, Eva Jane Rogers Tate, age 91, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Pardee Hospital. A native of Haywood County, and previous resident of Virginia, she had resided in Hendersonville for the past three years. She was the daughter of the late Marcus Boone and Ethel Maneese Medford Rogers and was also preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Belich and one brother, Davis B. Rogers. She was a school teacher in the Virginia Public School System and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harley Tate; a daughter, Judith Lynn Tate of Hendersonville; a sister, Betty Duckett of Asheville; two brothers, Russell and Edwin Rogers, both of the Crabtree community; and one granddaughter, Taylor Mancuso and her husband, Peter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend Curran Welch, Reverend Kitty Crane, and Reverend Greg Cope officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
