Waynesville, Evan Singleton, age 48, of Burke Street, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at his home where Evan was cared for unconditionally by his mother and father throughout his life. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and graduated from the Special Education Trainable Class at Central Elementary School. He was a member of Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church and enjoyed watching the Gaither Homecoming series on television, traveling to Texas to visit his niece and nephews and spending nights in hotels. Evan loved homemade candy, debating with his father and having friends over to visit. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Mary Sue Grasty Singleton; two brothers, Terry Singleton and his wife, Sheila and Billy Singleton and his wife, Beverly, all of Round Rock TX; one niece, Kaleigh, three nephews, Colby, Cameron and Caleb Singleton, many aunts and uncles and a network of friends which he loved very much. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Lake Junaluska First Baptist Church with Reverend James Huey, Reverend Barry Willett and Reverend Chris Willett officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Sunday. A graveside service will held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2008 at Greenhill Cemetery.
