Waynesville, Evelyn Lowe Clarke, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Dolph Baxter and Allie Mae Tabor Lowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Neal Clarke, who died in 2012; a son, Kevin Clarke, who died 2007; as well as two brothers, Edwin and Carroll Lowe. Evelyn's joy in this life came from her children, her family, her incredible and plentiful flower gardens, her interaction with children through work and play, and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her granddaughter, Emily, was the biggest blessing that was gifted to her. She had a way of making anything beautiful. She brought flowers that others had tossed aside back to life, restored and repurposed items that had been discarded, and she created parties and events that were overwhelmingly unforgettable. Her love of God drove her way of handling the many tragedies that she had in her life, and sustained her through some of the darkest days. Evelyn will be in our hearts and minds when we see a beautiful flower, hear children laughing, and are part of any kind of celebration. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Angie Gaddy, her husband, Anthony, and her precious granddaughter, Emily Gaddy, of Canton; a son, Keith Clarke and his wife, Lisa, of Stamping Ground, Kentucky; three sisters, Dorothy McDaniel, Doris Nelson and her husband, Bill, and Annette Arrington, all of Waynesville; and two brothers, Boone Lowe and Kenneth Lowe and his wife, Mary-June, also of Waynesville. Graveside services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jason Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
