Evelyn Moore

Evelyn Lanning Moore, 86, of Asheville, passed away Sunday, February 1 at Pisgah Manor. A native of Mills River, she was the daughter of the late Hilliard and Marie Dalton Lanning. Evelyn worked for American Enka and the Buncombe County Schools and was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church, Candler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Moore and two sisters.
She is survived by her children, Mike W. Moore of Candler, Diane M. Nelson of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Matt and Kayce Moore of Charlotte, Blake Nelson of Austin, TX and Beverly Crabb of Frisco, TX; great grandchildren, Brady Nelson and Beckett Crabb; sister, Tottsie (Bud) Hendrix of Hendersonville and brother, Mark (Joan) Lanning of Hendersonville
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, February 8th in the Chapel of Faith at Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be private.
