Evelyn Morris

Waynesville, Evelyn Rogers Morris, age 92, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Taylor and Polly Fisher Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Morris who died in 2007; a son, Arnold Rector; four brothers, Elmer, Dewey, Bob and Hugh Rogers and a sister, Edna Swanger. Evelyn was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Frances Rector Trantham and her husband, Wayne; a son, Jerry Morris and his wife, Sharon, all of Fines Creek; six grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
